1959 Buick Invicta- (built 1991)

I built this AMT 1959 Buick Invicta around 1992. I restored it from a built-up model that I bought from a fellow Buckeye Scale Auto Club member. It was a Craftsman kit and when I got it, it was in excellent condition. It had been put together without glue and was only held together by the chassis screws. Luckily it was also unpainted but the chrome was rather dull. After disassembly, I carefully removed all the mold lines from the bumpers and had all the chrome replated at Chrome-Tech.

These cars always reminded me of the Batmobile, so I thought a black paint job would be appropriate. For paint I shot the body with Testor's gloss back sprayed right from the can. After drying it was polished up with a Micro-Mesh polishing kit.
